  • 2016 WARRIOR FEAST - VOLUNTEER & VETERAN REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

THE 2016 WARRIOR FEAST PREPARATION IS WELL UNDERWAY! If you are unsure of what that is, I'll explain. Every Thanksgiving, we host Thanksgiving Dinner experience for our military community. For some, this is their only Thanksgiving experience. This year, we have upwards of 600 spots available for the Feast happening on Sunday night, November 20. We need an abundance of volunteers for this event and we need many veterans to serve as table hosts. If you would be interested in volunteering, click here.

  • BEGINNINGS: NIGHT OF VISION MAy 16, 2016

Our recent night of vision was awesome to say the least. Thank you to the over 200 of you that came out and got involved. Here are a few of the numbers from our response cards:

    • 35 of you joined our brand new Prayer Network (THANK YOU!)
    • 46 people joined our Volunteer Team (THANK YOU!)
    • 198 spots were sponsored for this year's Warrior's Thanksgiving Feast (THANK YOU!)
    • Many of you gave financially toward the cause (THANK YOU!)
    • and many of you committed to make a difference in the lives of our military community around you. (THANK YOU!)

We heard stories from Justin Countryman and JP Gipson, experienced the story of and presented our first annual Warrior Award to Patrick and Susan Bailey, Trey laid out the vision and mission of the Network, and Major General Michael Fortney, Vice Commander of AFGSC, spoke as well. All in all, the night was amazing and beyond anything we could have hoped for.

  • DEFENDERS OF LIBERTY AIR SHOW April 31 - May 1, 2016

Over the weekend of April 31-May 1, we had the privilege of serving alongside Barksdale AFB in providing lunch for our Security Forces, augmentees, and Med Group. THANK YOU SO MUCH to our all of our volunteers and to Open Road Fellowship, Brookwood Baptist, First Bossier, and Tom Harrison Pastoral Ministries. We are proud to stand alongside these men and women and were honored to get to serve as those dealing with long days working access control, traffic, parking, screening, security, and emergency response.

"Please pass my sincere thanks to those in your organization and all who contributed. Thank you!"

-David T. Watts, Lt Col, USAF

    Commander, 2d Security Forces Squadron

  • KIDFEST 2016 april 8, 2016

When this pic was taken at 7:00am that morning I can honestly say we had no idea what would happen over the next few hours. KidFest blew me away. I'm not one to usually be at a loss for words but that day I was. I want to thank a few folks...please take a sec read all of this...

Our volunteers! You guys ROCKED IT, all around 200 of you! I've heard more and more comments on just how nice everyone was...THANK YOU FOR THAT! We had volunteers from 11 churches, the military, several businesses, and community members...all rallied around one purpose...loving our military kids and families!

Our lead team including Ally Thomason Freeman, Michael Woodruff, Stefani Romanyak, Georgette Price, and Melody Rider. It was an HONOR serving alongside you guys.

Our churches, South Bossier Baptist Church, Brookwood Baptist Church (Shreveport), Bellaire Baptist, Open Road Fellowship, First Baptist Church of Bossier, First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, The Covenant Church, Freedom Church, Broadmoor, Eastwood Baptist Church, and Riverpark Church! Thank you for the unity and showing Jesus today!

Our sponsors and attractions...Cosse-Silmon Orthodontics, Jaclyn Litton Briery, Dale's Paving Inc., Deb Brittan Team, Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Surfari Pals, Duvall's Amusement Rentals, Virginia College, Clawed and the Shreveport Mudbugs, Sonic, and Porkchop's Party Animals.

Our displays...the team from Ft. Polk with the Blackhawk (I still can't believe that happened), Travis Schulze and his LifeAir team, Bossier PD and their SWAT vehicle, Barksdale Air Force Base's EOD team, Barksdale's Security Forces' K-9 unit, and Donny Lee and his magic shows!

Last and most important, THANK YOU to our military! Not for showing up today but for allowing us to serve you! You are why both The Warrior Network and the Northwest Louisiana Military Support Foundation exists. At the end of the day, with sunburns, tiredness, and body aches all around...the smiling faces in all the pics we have seen make it SO WORTH IT! You are the heroes of the day and our heroes day in and day out! THANK YOU!

We saw (very roughly) between 1800 and 2000 people come through KidFest today, including attenders, volunteers, and workers. We had fun, we got dusted by rotor wash, we laughed, I fought back tears, we learned, kid's smiled, we saw unity, kid's played, etc. All in all, it was a huge success, but IMPOSSIBLE without God first and everyone listed above...and then some! I'm honored, humbled, and FIRED UP for the future! Again, THANK YOU for our workers, and most important, thank you MOMS, DADS, GRANDMAS, AND GRANDPAS for your service!
